UNLOCK thy MIND PART. 1

I write this piece atop my head
Thoughts my own, in ink I shed

Selfless at heart
But restless at mind

None the less
my matter on earth
Is kin and flesh
My dreams be blessed

Stress? Yes, stressful indeed
Feeding them knowledge but they ate the seed
Reaping a harvest with plans to secede
Flawed is the cycle of poverty’s greed

Pick the poet’s pocket of keys

UNLOCK, UNLOCK, MY MIND UNLOCK

The day we realized that there’s more which unites us than that which separates us
When we come to see one another as brothers and sisters instead of enemies
Friends and not foe
Only then can we truly unlock our potential

UNLOCK, UNLOCK, OUR MINDS UNLOCKED

Regardless of region, creed, faith or colour
Not even tribes that pit one v. the other
Put down your weapons, together is power

UNLOCK, UNLOCK, YOUR MINDS UNLOCKED

Envisioning days
Fine as the braids on an African girl
That render me speechless at her natural curls

Scripture says her body is a temple
But society deems my worship as sinful

There’s more to her than beauty
If my lust for her intelligence was crime, then sue me

UNLOCK, UNLOCK, HER MIND UNLOCKED

I’m just a man, screaming carpe diem till I’m dead
She told me I was timeless, but left mans on read

Gentle men are victimized at an all time high but not I
Sichilongo won’t that let BS that fly

UNLOCK, UNLOCK, HIS MIND UNLOCKED

My protest is peaceful
But ign’ance is blissful
Sleep not on issues as though they afflict you

Some claim indifference I call it stupid
Because you’re in bondage must I really prove it

wake up

If you’re woke then good morning
Yell out with knowledge to keep them from snoring

Full in the tummy from this food for thought
UNLOCK, UNLOCK, ALL MINDS UNLOCKED

To each their own and peace for all.
To each their own may joy bestow.

Let none restrain thee, from a flourish that’s meant to be. Thyself included amongst the sights to see.
Mere humans as we, the voyage of life is but a tree.

Growth

Stay rooted in faith, if not in powers beyond at least in thyself.

I say to thee, troubles will come and hardship will strike but be not unsettled for a greater measure of contentment is forever in your grasp.

A cheerful soul born of positive thoughts,
Test my emotion with many a choice.

Eternally joyed because I’m smitten with Earth.
A smile in my sky and the sun on my face.
Where did I find this heavenly place?
Beyond all the clouds, pearl at its gates.

Between then and now there might be some pain, but peace will be yours just give it your all.

Once now and then remember your goals.
When time comes to score, shoot well your shot.

THE WORLD IS YOURS
