UNLOCK thy MIND PART. 1

I write this piece atop my head  Thoughts my own, in ink I shed  Selfless at heart  But restless at mind  None the less  my matter on earth  Is kin and flesh My dreams be blessed Stress? Yes, stressful indeed Feeding them knowledge but they ate the seed  Reaping a harvest with plans to secede  Flawed is the cycle of poverty’s greed  Pick the poet’s pocket of keys UNLOCK, UNLOCK, MY MIND UNLOCK  The day we realized that there’s more which unites us than that which separates us When we come to see one another as brothers and sisters instead of enemies Friends and not foe Only then can we truly unlock our potential UNLOCK, UNLOCK, OUR MINDS UNLOCKED Regardless of region, creed, faith or colour Not even tribes that pit one v. the other   Put down your weapons, together is power  UNLOCK, UNLOCK, YOUR MINDS UNLOCKED Envisioning days Fine as the braids on an African g...

March 4th

I woke up this morning feeling hopeless .  I feel like I’m drifting off; from the path to my dreams.  I have a diary where I write my deepest thoughts, and in typical style I tried to do so. Alas, my pen was out of ink — the words just didn’t seem to flow. By divine providence, the voice in my head reminded me that I had a date with destiny. Since when did I become so forgetful? Naturally I checked my schedule to find confirmation, and when I did I noticed the advice that the calendar had set before me.  March 4th, 2019. March 4th. March forth! Hence, I solemnly swear to march forth; throughout all the struggle and adversity — beginning this cold winter day onwards.  This life is harsh but beat on, and fight through all the pain.  I promise you that one day it’ll all make perfect sense.

Without a clue how I got here, or how to find myself. I’ve lived many a day in uncertainty. Awakened to the fact that I may never be found again. But stubborn as a mule, with limited tools, I search to find a muse, for this poetry I [a...
